and lovely Lara was able to put my ideas into fruition.. So I am feeling , fresh and inspired - which is always handy for a Monday.
The something Old is these gorgeous photos below. The last couple of days I have been restoring them
for my mums birthday, and Im pretty pleased with the results.
The first one is my grandparents on their wedding day; October 6 1934. My nan was a very young 20 years
of age and made her own dress and I always love looking at this picture, the simple style that speaks volumes.
The funny thing is I dont think they realised just how glamorous they were...
The second lovely photo is my mum ( the blonde curly top in the blue velvet) with my nan and my uncle. I think this photo was taken around 1939-40 ? Im not sure of the exact date. Its funny to see the formality of the photo, the touching up, for example the not so subtle addition of rouge on the cheeks was done by the photographer/developer. Even way back then (sorry mum) editing photos was a regular occurrence .
Fast forward to 2010 and photos have taken on a much more casual feel (thank goodness ) with the formal pose really a thing of the past.
